   NAD  L 70  dvd  ht receiver  - titanium :

Description and review :
   HiFi Netherlands, 2003 :
NAD Introduces the L 70 DVD / CD Surround Sound Receiver in an elegant and compact design but with the same performance as components of full width
   The L 70 supports DVD-Video, VCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW and MP3 discs
The L70 with its titanium finish and elegant proportions designed to combine with advanced video displays. The L 70 is ideal where space is limited, for whom ease and style are as important as performance
Unlike the optional "all-in-one" systems with supplied speakers (usually of very questionable quality), the NAD L 70 gives the user the option to select completely free of speakers that best fit into the interior and the taste of the listener
The L 70 automatically detects the available sound format and decodes DTS and Dolby Digital. In addition to these modes are Stereo Enhanced (5-channel stereo), Dolby ProLogic II, and EARS (excluding NAD) available
The EARS (Enhanced Ambience Recovery System) circuit uses DSP technology to extract natural ambience from stereo recordings and routes the information to the surround channels for a realistic surround simulation
Because discrete audio formats provide the same bandwidth and dynamic range on all channels, all five channels are capable of providing the same amount of power substantially
The L 70 delivers 45 watts per channel when all 5 channels are simultaneously driven into 8 ohms
Dynamic power is even more impressive with 82 W into 8 ohms. In stereo mode delivers the L 70  60 Watts per channel

As usual for NAD, the L 70 uses discrete output stages only, including the surround channels
While most products in this category use digital IC amplifier modules, discrete outputs enable the L 70 is able to have better specifications regarding signal / noise (-105 dB) and deformation (up 0.08% total harmonic distortion)
The L 70 is in spite of its physical size, so more than powerful enough for a satisfying movie or music experience
As can be expected from NAD are used only high quality components, such as analogue to digital converters with high resolution and digital to analogue converters from renowned manufacturer Crystal, for best possible performance
The L 70 can be connected to three external video sources, one from the front panel (for camcorders or game consoles). A 5.1 input is available, in addition to the integrated tuner and DVD / CD player
Both component, S-Video and composite video outputs are available. Two digital sources can be connected (including one optical and one coaxial) and a digital output can be used for connecting to a DVD recorder or other digital recording device
The DVD player L 70 has a 6 steps "Zoom" feature to magnify certain parts of the image and the AM / FM tuner has 30 presets that can be named freely and RDS functionality
All functions can be easily operated with the supplied HTR-2 learning remote. It is next to the L 70 also control your TV, VCR or satellite tuner or any other infrared controlled device
The logical layout and illuminated keys make operation of the A / V system easy and intuitive and the learning function replaces the HTR-2 all of your other remotes
