Sansui SR-2020 [1st unit] belt drive turntable - walnut :
This SR-2020 has been restored, and tested with excellent results : further improvements may occur
The SR2020 is a fully manual model, meaning to play : unclip the tonearm rest holder, switch the operating lever from off to on, then position the stylus at record begin, lower the lever to play
At end of record play, the cartridge requires manual return to the rest
This can be seen as an advantage of having simpler mechanics with less adjustments
Fitted with a Stanton 680EE cartridge and stylus [replacement is N 382 at styli.co.nz]
Improvements include but are not limited to : lid cleaned and buffed, improved RCA phono plugs, new double-layer anti-vibration feet,
Outer Motor cover painted, Bottom plate stiffened with two coats of teak oil,
Internal: platter support boots replenished, new motor suspension rubbers, motor spindle, belt capstan and top reservoir fine oiled
Possible addition of lid rest support and fixings, lid stop pads
